Dr. Brian BermanDr. Brian Berman is Professor of Dermatology and Internal Medicine at The University of Miami School of Medicine. He received M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from New York University. Following his Residency training in Dermatology and NIH Immunodermatology Fellowship at NYU, Dr. Berman was Assistant Professor of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Professor of Dermatology and Vice-Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at The University of California, Davis, Chief of the Dermatology Service at the VA Medical Center, Martinez, CA, and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. He is past President and Founder of The National Association of Veterans Affairs Dermatologists, former National Chairman of the Dermatology Field Advisory Group for The Department of Veterans Affairs, past member of the Board of Trustees of the Sulzberger Institute, member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology, Associate Editor of The European Journal of Dermatology, member of the editorial boards of Cosmetic Dermatology, SkinMed , Drugs in Dermatology, The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology and PsoriasisNet, Editor of The Miami Review, Consultant for University of Miami’s Teledermatology Consultations to the US Armed Forces, Consultant and Member of the expert panel for the Food and Drug Administration, Chairman AAD Poster Exhibits Task Force, member AAD Development & Industry Liaison Committee, and for 8 years was Director of the annual Therapeutics Symposium of the American Academy of Dermatology. In addition to his faculty clinical practice and serving as Director, Jackson Memorial Hospital Dermatology out-patient clinics and adult in-patient consultation service,

Dr. Berman directs the Skin Research Group’s broad-based clinical research program and Fellowship, while focusing his laboratory investigations on the study of the control of scarring. He is the author of more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific and clinical articles, chapters and books, has lectured extensively nationally and internationally, is the recipient of the Dean’s Senior Faculty Clinical Research Award from the University of Miami School of Medicine, was bestowed the "Scientist of the Year" Award from Sigma Xi the Science and Research Honor Society and is included among "The Best Doctors in America."
