Brandie J. Metz, MD


Brandie Metz, MD is a pediatric dermatologist at the University of California, Irvine, where she is an assistant professor of dermatology and pediatrics and director of the division of pediatric dermatology. 


Dr. Metz earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1996 from Northwestern University and her medical degree in 2000 from Northwestern University Medical School.  Dr. Metz completed an internship in Internal Medicine at University of California San Diego (UCSD), followed by a dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  After her residency, Dr. Metz was a fellow in pediatric and adolescent dermatology at UCSD and Children’s Hospital San Diego. 


Dr. Metz has published many peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters, including in “Treatment of Skin Disease: Comprehensive Therapeutic Strategies” and “Textbook of Neonatal Dermatology”, and has spoken at academic meetings nationally and internationally.
