Manage This Patient: Preventing HIV Infection With PrEP

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the National Association for Continuing Education (NACE) and Integritas Communications. Target Audience

This activity is intended for primary care providers (PCPs) involved in the assessment, referral, and multidisciplinary management of sexual health and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

Utilize US Public Health Service (USPHS)/US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) clinical practice guidelines: Preexposure Prophylaxis for the Prevention of HIV Prevention in the United States to appropriately screen and determine eligibility for PrEP
Initiate a patient-provider dialogue regarding sexual health and a sexual behavior assessment
Implement appropriate HIV-prevention strategies for initiation and monitoring of patients on PrEP
