Michael S. Kaminer, MD

Michael S. Kaminer, MD is known as a leader, innovator and talented cosmetic surgeon in the Boston area. He is one of the three founding partners of SkinCare Physicians, a 15 physician, 100 employee group that is a recognized world leader in dermatology and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Kaminer has been an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Harvard and Tufts Medical Schools, and is currently Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology, Yale Medical School,  and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine (Dermatology) at Brown Medical School.
 
A Boston area cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Kaminer specializes in facial sculpting and rejuvenation will filler substances, cellulite, non-invasive body contouring and fat removal, hair transplantation, laser treatments for aging skin and acne scars, ablative and non-ablative skin resurfacing, non-invasive skin tightening, treatment of excess sweating, and tattoo removal.

Dr. Kaminer is the editor of a comprehensive, world-class cosmetic surgery textbook, Atlas of Cosmetic Surgery, which became one of the leading cosmetic surgery books and is now in its 2nd edition. He is the author of over 100 scientific articles and book chapters, and has served as guest editor of several special cosmetic surgery issues of Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery. He has directed many highly-acclaimed Harvard Medical School courses and SkinCare Physicians Advanced Seminars over the past 20 years.
 
Dr. Kaminer is one of the pre-eminent educators in cosmetic surgery in the nation, having lectured at many national meetings, including the ones of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the  SDEF Hawaii Dermatology Conference, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He has also lectured at numerous international meetings and symposia, recently serving as Co-Chairman of the Anti-Aging World Congress in Paris, France. Dr. Kaminer was the Associate Editor of the Archives of Dermatology, one of the leading medical journals for dermatologists in the world, is on the editorial board of Cosmetic Dermatology, and is a peer review expert for Dermatologic Surgery, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, and Lasers in Surgery and Medicine.
 
He has also been actively involved in the education of physicians-in-training, including past positions as the Director of Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery education at both Harvard Medical School and the Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Kaminer is one of a few cosmetic surgeons in the country to direct a comprehensive cosmetic surgery fellowship program. Each year, Dr. Kaminer, along with his colleagues selects and trains three physicians, one-on-one, in the art of cosmetic and laser surgery. He also co-directs a comprehensive clinical research facility at SkinCare Physicians which performs an average of fifteen IRB approved clinical trials per year.
